Leddington Guitars is my small one-man workshop based in the historic city of Bath, United Kingdom. I specialise in custom hand-built guitars, cases, boutique picks, and repair work.
Originally from Worcestershire, I moved to Antwerp, Belgium in 2010, where I quickly found myself co-founding a local bluegrass group or two while studying at the world- renowned CMB (Center for Musical Instrument Building) in Puurs. Through this headlong immersion into acoustic music and woodworking - combined with my background in Fine Arts - my sense of the visual and the aural became inseparably intertwined.
Many instruments later, I returned to my native UK and developed a sonic sensibility focused on producing balanced and responsive guitars, with particular emphasis on how they play and feel. These instruments are built by a player, for players.
Beyond their primary acoustic function, I maintain a strong yet minimal visual aesthetic, often favouring simple straight lines, uncomplicated appointments, and classically balanced forms. This approach allows the wood - often dazzling enough on its own - to speak for itself, both visually and sonically.
Every guitar I build begins with a conversation.
I believe the best instruments emerge from a
genuine dialogue between maker and
player - an understanding of how you play,
what you play, and what you want to feel
under your hands. Whether you arrive with a
precise vision or only a vague sense of what
you're searching for, we work through the
details together: tonewoods, scale length,
appointments, and aesthetics. My passion is
to honour the American tradition of luthiery
while introducing a modern look and feel
through those shared ideas and decisions.
The result is an instrument that is, in the
truest sense, yours.
